What is Blitz Golf?
The Blitz Pro-Series is a head-to-head mash-up of golfing greats, rising stars and celebrity hot-shots ready to strike it big for cash
prizes, and there’s absolutely no boundaries with men and women pros all battling it out side-by-side.
How it works
Blitz is breaking down barriers and crossing all kinds of lines to create the fastest and most exciting format. As the Blitzes get shorter
the stakes get higher. In Round One, players get just 6 holes to make their mark. Only the top 50% advance to Round Two. Then players have
just 3 holes to smash their rivals before the top four advance to the Final Round, which is a single hole shoot-out with only one winner.
There’s also a series of cash bonuses for round leaders, sudden death wedge competitions and scoring Eagles.
The Launch of the BGL
The BGL (Blitz Golf League) series of events runs from approx. mid-October through to early January and will include a series of PRO
events.
NB: There is also a 24 event Amateur Series Australia wide to engage with players at an amateur level.
Points Race
Winner of each event - 8pts
Finalist - 4pts
2nd Round (3 hole blitz) - 2pts
1st Round - 1pt
Event Format (BGL events)
Each event will have 32 pros playing the Blitz 6/3/1 format with the Top 50% advancing from the 6-hole Blitz to the 3-hole Blitz and then
the Top 4 from the 3-hole Blitz advancing to the Final. Sudden death NTP is used to break ties to progress if required. The competitor
field is exciting & filled with a variety of pro players from last year’s Top 8. This is in addition to supporting the next generation
of golf (yes, there’s some spots available for leading amateurs). It’s a world first way of having a golf tournament field interacting with
all of our key stakeholders and fans
Female Players
Karis Davidson as last year’s finalist (the first Blitz Golf female finalist in a mixed gender field) and Montana Strauss (as previous
winner of inaugural female only event) will receive invites for the 2021/2022 series. Whilst another 5-6 leading female pros from around
the country will be invited to participate. Previous years have included the ever talented; Hannah Green, Becky Kay, Whitney Hillier, Steph
Na, Tahnia Ravnjak and Steph Kyriacou.
BLG has also had 3 x female amateur winners at past events to date including Jordan O’Brien, an up and coming potential pro as well as 2 x
junior winners aged under 15.
We’ll share the full Blitz Golf event schedule with you asap. We already know that the following venues are locked in; Pelican Waters Golf
Club (Qld), Aston Hills, Tanunda Pines and Links Lady Bay (SA), Howlong Resort (NSW), and the Western Australian Golf Club. Plus, it’s well
worth mentioning that the finals day at Glenelg Golf Club (SA) will be the richest single day golf event in Australia!
