So many golfers keep choosing to return after experiencing a Norfolk Island Golf holiday. Visit and you’ll find one of the most friendly and social clubs with a course bordered by the South Pacific Ocean and set within historic Kingston a World Heritage listed site. Stunning views along with the remains of a rugged history will greet you at the Norfolk Island Golf Club. As a setting for golf it is unique.
Located within historic Kingston, the oldest of eleven World Heritage listed Australian Convict Sites, the 1843 clubhouse and pro shop were built as the home for the Stipendiary Magistrate. Today the club welcomes you to enjoy the view over the course from the house’s veranda.
Golf is meant to be fun – and this is the focus at the Norfolk Island Golf Club. Access to the club is so easy that both regular players and those simply inspired to have a go while on holiday will feel welcomed. Club professional Andrew Umlauft and his staff are keen to ensure that you’ll enjoy your time whether you are having a holiday hit, playing in a social group or tournament, or getting some advice on your game.
Andrew has been a member of the Australian PGA for 17 years and the club professional at Norfolk Island for 9 years. He is a member of Performance Golf enabling him to keep up with the latest golf trends and provide quality golf equipment at competitive prices. Andrew uses the latest V1 software to help analyse golf swings of beginners through to top amateurs. Lessons are available by appointment. One hour group lessons from $20 per person (4 people) or 1 on 1 private lessons for $40 per half hour.
Visitors are welcome and encouraged to meet the locals and join in the comps held every week. Those who have a handicap can join in the two main comps on Wednesdays (1pm tee off) and Saturdays (8.30am and 1pm tee off). Visitors without a handicap are more than welcome to play in the Friday chook run (tees off around 3pm). Comp fees of $10 pp for Wednesday and Saturday and $4 for Friday applies. Or for visiting golf groups keen to run a comp within their own group this can be easily organised. Social activities at the club also available for groups including lunches and a local island fish fry dinner.
